What this proposes

The current page is a flat directory of every consultant. This keeps that directory in place but improves the page so it does two jobs at once: it tells visitors who our consultants are and why they are trusted, and it sends them to the right specialism. In the nav it becomes "Find a consultant".

The existing intro copy is kept word for word. New on the page: a short description of the breadth of care, a "Browse by specialism" block that links out to the five specialism pages, and a small consultant-choice FAQ. The search, filters and full A–Z grid are untouched.

Changed · navigation

The "Consultants" nav item becomes Find a consultant with a lean dropdown (hover to open) of the two priority specialisms, Cataract and Glaucoma consultants. The nav item itself links to the page, and the remaining specialisms are reached from the tiles on it, so the menu stays uncluttered.

Our consultants

1
New · description

KEPTThe original opening is retained word for word, including the 10,000 cataract procedures line and its link.

Added: two short paragraphs on the breadth of care and NHS / private access, and a "what to look for" helper that answers "which one do I pick". Plain language, no over-claims.

Our consultants work closely with your optometrist to ensure continuity of care after your treatment. Between them, our consultants have conducted over 10,000 cataract procedures with an outstanding level of patient care.

Their expertise covers every main area of eye health, from cataract surgery and glaucoma to medical retina, oculoplastics and vitreoretinal surgery. Many hold specialist fellowships or lead services in their field, and they'll look after you at every step. Whether you're treated privately or through the NHS, you'll see a consultant whose experience matches your condition, at a CQC-regulated clinic near you.

2
New · browse by specialism

This is the hub mechanism. Each tile is a real link to a specialism page, so the page passes authority to them and Google can find them. Sits above the directory so a visitor who knows what they need can go straight there.

3
Kept · the directory

The existing search box, the specialism and location filters and the full A–Z grid of consultants stay exactly as they are. This is still the page everyone browses; it just now sits beneath the selling content and the specialism links.

New · FAQ

A short, three-question FAQ focused on choosing and seeing a consultant, with FAQ schema. Procedure-level questions (lens types, recovery, NHS vs private surgery) belong on the specialism pages, where the search demand is.
